Reinventing familiar structures with a distinctive point of view
Stéphanie Bakouche was born in Paris and trained at ISIPCA. Her professional path has included work with Givaudan, Takasago, Parfums MDCI and L’Artisan Parfumeur, followed by projects for independent fragrance houses. Invasion Barbare, created for MDCI soon after her studies, became an important early signature.
Bakouche is particularly interested in finding fresh possibilities within familiar perfume ideas. In a 2023 interview, she described the challenge of making a rose composition feel original, and the pleasure of developing fragrances that invite wearers beyond conventional gender categories. Her work balances a brand’s identity with the search for a new olfactory perspective.
Rose SaltifOlia for Maison Crivelli brings rose into contact with a salty impression, while Will for Comporta was created with her mentor Bertrand Duchaufour. She also works on scented candles, extending her practice beyond personal fragrance. These varied projects show a creator who approaches traditional structures as starting points for further exploration.
