Zavelier · The perfumers
An emerging perfumer with a clear interest in the science of scent
Patrick Müller’s work with Kajal includes Lamar Noir, developed while he was still early in his professional training. Founder Moe Khalaf has described the project as a memorable example of giving a young perfumer room to develop an idea.
In Kajal’s 2026 first-person interview, Müller explained the technical behaviour behind a fragrance’s evolution: the different volatility of materials, their interaction within a blend and the way the finished scent is experienced over time.
His account also considers how an ingredient that seems difficult alone can become beautiful in context. The creative task is therefore more than choosing pleasant-smelling materials; it involves understanding their relationships and the new impressions they form together. His published work and interviews provide a view of a developing career in which scientific understanding supports the practical art of balancing a distinctive composition.
