Zavelier · The perfumers
A Grasse vocation and the discipline of simplifying a formula
Michel Almairac was born in Grasse and discovered a strong interest in perfume during a visit to Roure’s factory at fourteen. He went on to train within the town’s perfumery tradition and developed a career across several major fragrance houses.
His work includes commissions for Dior, Burberry, Gucci and Chloé, with shared authorship where applicable. A preference for clarity and economy runs through accounts of his method: understanding which materials carry the essential idea, then removing what the formula does not need.
Parle Moi de Parfum gave that work a more personal setting. Developed with his sons Benjamin and Romain, the house brought compositions that had previously remained outside the market into a family project centred on the perfumer’s own ideas. Almairac’s career connects the demands of international brand commissions with that more direct form of expression, supported by decades of material knowledge and practical refinement.
