Leslie Girard | Perfumer

International experience and a willingness to follow an unusual brief

Leslie Girard completed a master’s degree specialising in perfumery before beginning as a perfumer’s assistant at Robertet. In 2012, she joined the company’s team in China as a perfumer, returning to Grasse two years later.

Travel and personal experience are recurring sources of ideas in her published biography. Her credited work includes Amouage Imitation Man, Maison Crivelli Papyrus Moléculaire and Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo.

Amouage’s former creative director Christopher Chong described Girard as a new discovery when discussing Imitation Man in 2018, valuing her willingness to pursue a difficult, unconventional direction. For Papyrus Moléculaire, Girard explained her interest in contrasting warm and cool impressions, using aromatic freshness against smoky, woody and milky effects. Together, these projects show a creator responding closely to a house’s concept while bringing her own sense of contrast, texture and material balance to the formula.
