A Robertet education grounded in patience and natural materials
Karine Vinchon-Spehner’s early scent memories include warm madeleines at the Jeannette biscuit factory her grandfather had acquired in Normandy. Moving to southern France at around ten introduced another world of mimosa, jasmine and lavender.
She entered ISIPCA and began training at Robertet with Christian Rostain between 2002 and 2004. He insisted that she master the foundations before working on a brief, teaching patience as an essential part of the craft.
Michel Almairac became another important influence as her career continued within Robertet. In a 2024 Fragrance Foundation profile, Vinchon-Spehner described an exacting approach and a sustained commitment to the profession. Her background connects the emotional recognition of an everyday smell with a thorough material education. The perfumes below offer a way to explore the work that grew from those experiences, with shared creation credits retained where a composition involved several perfumers.
