Nature, movement and a creative life between France and Britain
Julie Pluchet grew up in the French countryside, where nature helped develop her sensitivity to smell. She studied chemistry and trained in Grasse before beginning her professional work as a perfumer.
After five years working in Paris, she moved to the United Kingdom in 2012 and joined CPL Aromas in 2014. The house’s first-person career spotlight later introduced her as a senior perfumer in its UK team.
Dance is an important part of Pluchet’s wider creative life. She sees connections between movement and composition, describing how the energy of dancing can influence the way she approaches a fragrance. Her account brings a scientific and material education together with a more physical source of inspiration. The compositions below offer an introduction to how those different experiences can be translated into a finished scent, developed through the practical work of balancing ingredients and responding to a creative brief.
