A creator and teacher whose influence extends across generations
Jean Guichard developed his career within the Grasse perfumery tradition, working at houses including Roure, Créations Aromatiques, Quest and Givaudan. His fragrance credits include Cacharel LouLou and Eden, Calvin Klein Obsession and Hermès Concentré d’Orange Verte.
Teaching became another important part of his professional life. Givaudan’s 2013 announcement of its Singapore fragrance centre identified him as the director of its Perfumery School, connecting his creative experience with the development of new perfumers.
His influence also appears in the recollections of his son, Aurélien Guichard, who remembers his mother wearing trials of LouLou at home. Those memories show how the work of composition can enter family life as well as formal training. Jean Guichard’s career is therefore visible through both the perfumes he signed and the knowledge he shared, with a contribution to the profession that extends beyond an individual portfolio.
