Frank Voelkl was born in Germany and spent formative years in the Netherlands and France. His early scent memories include rain and the strong smells of his uncle’s farm, followed by the rich perfumes his mother wore in Paris.
He studied at ISIPCA. An early composition built around the tiare flower paid tribute to his Tahitian wife and helped launch his professional career. French Polynesia has remained a particularly important source of inspiration, connecting travel, natural abundance and personal experience.
Voelkl’s approach centres on the emotional relationship between a fragrance and its wearer. He seeks compositions that feel personally meaningful and evoke pleasure, whether the project is for an independent house or a large international launch.
