Zavelier · The perfumers
A long education in natural materials and international fragrance
Daniel Visentin is a Grasse-born perfumer who began his career at Robertet in 1976. His early work concentrated on raw-material development and olfactory control, providing a close practical understanding of ingredients before he became a perfumer in 2001.
His career subsequently involved projects across the Robertet group’s international network, including work connected with China and India. The published biography for his collaboration with M.INT identifies both countries as places to which he feels a particular affinity.
Visentin has expressed an interest in sandalwood, vanilla, oud and other warm materials. This gives useful context to his compositions without reducing them to one family of perfume. His professional journey also shows how a creator’s education can develop over many years inside a fragrance house: learning materials, evaluating their quality and behaviour, and only later taking on the task of building complete fragrances.
