Zavelier · The perfumers
An independent studio with an international creative reach
Cécile Zarokian trained at ISIPCA and developed her craft at Robertet. Her early teachers in Grasse included Daniel Maurel and Michel Almairac, followed by experience in Paris as Sidonie Lancesseur’s assistant. The training introduced her to fine fragrance as well as body care, candles and other scented products.
An important early milestone was Amouage Epic Woman, created while she was an apprentice in 2009. She established her independent Paris studio in 2011, building a practice in which composition is closely connected with understanding each client’s intentions.
Her later work includes Nishane Ani and Ani X, alongside continuing collaborations with Amouage and other independent houses. In interviews, Zarokian explains that independent perfumery involves more than writing a formula: discussion, project development and a strong understanding of a brand are also part of the job. Her career combines that practical range with the freedom to pursue a personal creative voice.
