Anne Flipo | Perfumer

A love of gardens, expressed through modern fragrance

Anne Flipo grew up in northern France, where a richly planted garden formed an early part of her sensory world. Perfumery offered a way to develop that sensitivity into a creative profession. She joined IFF in 2004 and was later recognised by the house as a master perfumer.

Her career includes major collaborative successes such as Lady Million, La Vie Est Belle and Libre, alongside work for Chloé, Jo Malone London and L’Artisan Parfumeur. These credits span different houses and fragrance families, showing the breadth of a practice that cannot be reduced to a single perfume style.

Flipo’s interest in plants is especially visible in Jo Malone’s Herb Garden collection, Synthetic Jungle for Frédéric Malle and Néroli Botanica for Essential Parfums. Green, floral and aromatic materials become subjects for composition rather than literal copies of a garden. Her interviews emphasise curiosity, creative freedom and the pleasure of continuing to learn.
