Landscape and botanical character in contemporary perfume
Amélie Jacquin is a perfumer whose published work includes several compositions for Goldfield & Banks, the Australian fragrance house founded by Dimitri Weber. These collaborations provide a documented introduction to her work through specific landscapes and raw materials.
For Bohemian Lime, Jacquin worked under Weber’s creative direction on a composition inspired by Byron Bay. Australian finger lime and coriander introduce a citrus-aromatic idea that develops through vetiver, cedarwood and sandalwood. The perfume translates a place into a sequence of olfactory impressions rather than simply describing its scenery.
Island Lush takes a different direction, drawing on the South Pacific and the character of sandalwood. Spices and other woods bring warmth and depth to the composition. Read together, these two commissions show how the same creator can approach a luminous citrus fragrance and a richer woody perfume while responding to the identity of a particular house.
