Zavelier · The perfumers
From fragrance marketing to the perfumer’s organ
Alexis Dadier entered the fragrance industry through marketing at Parfums Christian Dior before deciding to become a perfumer. Training in Grasse at Mane gave him a different view of the industry: the materials, trials and patient adjustments behind a finished scent.
His career subsequently included work at Mane, Symrise and IFF before he joined Robertet in 2019. That experience across fragrance houses and the commercial side of perfume informs an approach that considers both the creative idea and the person or brand for whom the fragrance is being made.
In interviews, Dadier compares composition to architecture. A sketch establishes a direction, then layers, structure and balance give the idea a lasting form. Art, music, gardens and buildings can all provide starting points. He also emphasises intuition and conversation with the client, allowing a perfume to develop through exchange rather than treating the initial brief as a fixed formula.
