Zavelier · The perfumers
Chemistry, nature and the craft of fragrance creation
Alexandra Kosinski’s interest in nature helped guide her towards perfumery. She completed a master’s degree in chemistry before studying at ISIPCA in Versailles, combining scientific training with the close study of fragrance materials and composition.
She spent fifteen years at Givaudan before joining CPL Aromas in 2018. In its 2022 interview with her, CPL Aromas introduced Kosinski as its UK Director of Perfumery at Innovation House. Her career has involved both creating fragrances and supporting the wider creative work of a perfumery team.
Kosinski describes a particular interest in natural smells and in finding ways to recreate their character. For her, composition depends on how ingredients relate to one another, not simply on the appeal of each material in isolation. That balance between technical understanding and sensitivity to nature provides a useful context for exploring the fragrances credited to her below.
